GRAMMY AWARDS 2017; winners so far

The 59th annual Grammy Awards are here, although some of Hip Hop’s biggest stars most likely won’t be in attendance for the ceremony at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Sunday night (February 12).

Several nominees for Best Rap Album are skipping the show, with Kanye West expected to make good on his promise to boycott the awards if Frank Ocean wasn’t nominated (he wasn’t, in what was kind of a big deal) and Drake out on tour in Europe. ScHoolboy Q recently said he’d probably pass on the show unless his daughter wanted to check it out.

Plenty of other Hip Hop and R&B notables are attending though, with Chance The Rapper, Rick Ross, CeeLo, 2 Chainz, French Montana and many more already past the red carpet.

Beyoncé led the pack of nominees with nine, while Drake, Rihanna, and Kanye West scored eight nominations, and Chance The Rapper had seven.

Chance will perform during the show and has already won Best Rap Performance for “No Problems” featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz. He also won the award for Best New Artist in a field that included Anderson .Paak.
