MEET AFRICA'S BADDEST FEMALE DISC JOCKEY

Disc Jockeying in Africa ever since its introduction has been a male dominated industry and craft and as such has seen less involvement of females, but out of the few stands Nana Kessewa Adu, known in Showbiz as Dj Kess.

DJ Kess discovered her talent in Senior High School (Archbishop Porter Girls, Takoradi) when she was made the school's official Dj. Her passion to become a Dj grew bigger  when she realized  that she could learn and become a good Dj now that she has access to all the sound equipment the school had. With time, she was able to get her hands on ten basic sound equipment necessary for anybody to be able to learn the craft of disc jockeying. After Senior High School, she furthered her education at the Central University College, Ghana. There, she got introduced to playing at events and gradually  became the only female Dj in the school battling it out with the male Djs .

After school,  what t many looked like a one-time wonder now became Kess's profession . Kess entered Radio Dj'ing in 2011 and has since then been working with YFM Ghana. She is currently the official Dj for the biggest rive time radio show in Ghana  'the Dryve Of Your Lyfe' with Ghana's youngest drive time radio show host Joel Orleans between 15:30 and 19:00 GMT from Monday to Friday and the YAired talk show with TV and Radio Divas Vanessa Gyan and Nana Sentuo Bonsu on Saturdays between 13:00 and 14:00 GMT.

Kessewa's has played on many big platforms here in Ghana and across Africa, her big breakthrough came in 2011 when she was invited to come play at the Big Brother Africa reality show's Saturday house party night in South Africa as a guest Dj from Ghana . She was  the official Dj for the 2012 Etilsat Epiq concert in Benin,  2012 Nigeria Copa Coca Cola concert in Nigeria,  Mario & Shontelle Concert in Ghana in 2011 and the All Female red lipstick concert in Ghana in 2012. She was also the Official Dj at "Dj Kess Live at Club Dejavu party Liberia in 2011.

The Disc Jockeying industry in Ghana officially acknowledges Dj Kess as the Best Female DJ at the Ghana DJ Awards 2012 & 2013. in 2013 she was nominated in the Best

 Female DJ category in the  African Global DJ Awards in Johannesburg, South Africa. ​She also received Nominations in the 2014 and 2015 Ghana Dj Awards ceremony.

Aside radio Dj'ing and Events, Dj Kess doubles as a 

club Dj and is currently the official Dj for Bela Roma Fridays in Osu. On Tv, she served as the Dj for Airtel magic moments on ETV Ghana. She is also the official Dj for Ghanaian Singer Songwriter Eazzy.

Dj Kess takes her inspiration from the biggest names in Disc Jockeying like Dan Tegnalia and Carl Cox. Music she says is her life, she spends time listening and sampling new songs when she is free. Dj Kess plans on diversifying her Dj'ing skills into other fields of the entertainment industry in the nearby feature. She is a big soccer fan. Kessewa is known in Ghana as the female Dj with the highest hip hop sense when it comes to fashion. Her zeal and style when it comes to entertaining her fans is the main reason why she's tagged as Africa's Baddest female Dj.
