Sarkodie, Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson and Others ready for the #DumsorMustStop Vigil

Ghana for over the past 6 years hasn't really enjoyed constant power supply due to the state of our main power generating dam, The Akosombo Hydro Electric Power dam.The nation has since then been living with constant power outage and cuts. What initially looked like a two day affair gradually grew into becoming part of our daily lives.
The government at a point in time informed the nation about the worn out state of the Akosombo dam and its power generating turbines. The nation then went through months of load shedding since the Turbines which were still working were not enough to power the whole nation constantly.
The government also came out a couple of times to assure Ghanaians of uninterrupted power supply sighting that there were other alternatives in power  supply if the Akosombo dam will fail us. A gas plant was then rumored to be the next source of electricity for Ghanaians, but up till date, the progress of the said Gas Plant hasn't be heard of.
The president of Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama has been the subject of discussions everywhere in relation to the power supply state of the nation dubbed "Dumsor". Many believe He hasn't delivered up to his promise of making Ghana better.
Due to this power situation, many businesses are shutting down due to their inability to produce with the constant power cuts. Many have also laid off a lot of labor because they now have to allocate funds to getting alternative power supply. Generally, life has become unbearable in the country and this have sparked a lot of anger in the citizens.
About three weeks ago, renowned  Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson started a social media campaign dubbed "Dumsor Must Stop" which quickly caught a lot of attention and through that inspiring other concerned celebrities to hop on board the campaign. Rapper and business man Sarkodie and another popular actress Lydia Forson all Joined the campaign. After days of the citizen's of Ghana expressing themselves on the issue of "Dumsor", the Ghanaian celebrities tagged as the dumsor Team have decided to embark on a vigil to express their displeasure about the current state of the nation's power supply to the government. To them, this campaign has no motive of partisan politics but clear concern to making the state better for us all as against many accusations some political figures are making describing the entire campaign and the people involved as "tools of political propaganda by opposition parties".
Lawyers of the Dumsor team 5 days ago submitted a letter of notice to the Accra Police Command informing them about their plans to stage a vigil  in view of the power supply situation in Ghana soon after which their request was approved. Now known faces like Dblack and Kwaw Kese have also joined the campaign. The vigil will take place on the 16th of May, 2015 and shall set off from “On–the–Run and proceed peacefully with Police escort to the Green Park opposite the Villagio Apartment at the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange, Accra.Participants are encouraged to wear black and attend the Vigil with torches, lanterns and lamps. There, participants will be given the platform to share their dumsor experiences.
Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson believe that as citizens of our nation Ghana, it is our civic duty to God and the country to walk the talk by embarking on a peaceful vigil in order to drive home the message, therefore people concerned about the nation's progress should hop on board!

Erskine Say's " Go guys! this is our country and expressing displeasure on a situation which when changed can bring about improvement in our lives is indeed a laudable cause, you have our support"
